Join us for a fun-filled day of getting familiar with the Project WET curriculum guide and/or the Texas based Major Rivers curriculum and learning how to conduct the interactive, hands-on activities with your students.  Workshops may be requested by contacting the NPGCD Education & Public Relations coordinator, Rhonda Artho.   The teacher training is free, with a $25 refundable deposit required per person, which will be refunded at the conclusion of the training.   Attendees receive a copy of the Project WET curriculum guide, which contains over 90 different activities and/or the Major Rivers classroom curriculum kit, which the District will provide free refills for each year.

The Project WET curriculum is geared for K-12 students, and is multi-disciplinary.  The guide also includes helpful charts to aid teachers in selecting activities that are appropriate for their students' age and the subject that they are wishing to cover, as well as correlations to the state and national standards.

The Major Rivers curriculum is geared toward 4th and 5th grade students, and contains activities and lessons based on the water resources of the state of Texas.  Students follow comic book characters  Major Rivers and his horse Aquifer as they learn more about water in Texas.

Workshops will be held each summer, and can be requested by individual schools or school districts at their locations by contacting Rhonda Artho to schedule a date.
