Students Invited to Attend State Water Camp

High School students who live within North Plains Groundwater Conservation District are invited to apply to attend the Texas State Water Camp each year.  2010 is the eighteenth year that the camp has been held, and students can spend five fun-filled days with youth from around the state as they participate in hands-on experiences, field trips and recreation related to water resources.  The camp is held each year at the George and Opal Bentley 4-H Center in Monahans, Texas.

North Plains Groundwater Conservation District will pay the camp registration and travel costs for any high school student who lives in the District who is accepted to the camp.  More information about the camp, including a video of activities at past Water Camps and application forms, can be obtained at the Ward County website at http://ward-tx.tamu.edu.  Once there, click on the link for "Youth Water Camp".

Anyone with questions or who has been accepted to attend the camp can contact the NPGCD Education Coordinator, at  806-935-6401 to arrange to have expenses covered.
