ANNUAL "MAKE A SPLASH" WATER FESTIVALS!
(Click links to the left to view photos from past Make a Splash Festivals) WHERE: In Dumas - Moore County Community
Building, 15th & Maddox WHEN: Dumas - May of each year. The 2008
Festival will be May 14. WHO: Fourth and fifth grade students and their teachers from all school districts within the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District are invited to attend. WHY: We all need water for so many uses. As the human population grows, the quantity of water we all need increases, too. But the quantity of water we have on our planet is not increasing so that means there will be difficult choices to be made. Water Festivals have proven to be an effective educational tool to teach students about their water resources and their role in protecting and preserving those resources for the future. The Water Wonders Water Festival will bring together students from many school districts for a day of engaging and fun hands-on activities and learning experiences.
