WHO:  Fourth and fifth grade students and their teachers from all school districts within the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District are invited to attend.

WHY:  We all need water for so many uses.  As the human population grows, the quantity of water we all need increases, too.  But the quantity of water we have on our planet is not increasing so that means there will be difficult choices to be made.  Water Festivals have proven to be an effective educational tool to teach students about their water resources and their role in protecting and preserving those resources for the future.  The Water Wonders Water Festival will bring together students from many school districts for a day of engaging and fun hands-on activities and learning experiences.

  • A Water Festival is a catalyst to encourage continuing water education.
  • Students and teachers learn that water is an essential, limited resource and that they can take action.
  • Teachers receive an array of teaching materials and activity ideas for their classrooms for on-going learning.
  • Sponsors and supporters become involved with and aware of water education
